Hi ArnoArno wrote: But now I get an idea: to try to list them and design a big cave which combines all of them. Not sure if it's possible though... I'll consider it.
This is good idea, but i think it would be nice to create a small - just the trick caves - something like your 'tiny curiosity' or 'mini fun1' by Nesdori.
Hi Electronvolt
If You like the multiple blast trick, see all "Horror" caves, "Ultra is Back" or "Kettenhund". In my opinion, the most hardcore version is Arno's "Rocky Horror Show". Synchronize the spining firefly with triple blast is realy hard
I've been thinking (during a beach walk ) about the idea to create a list of BD tricks with demonstration videos on small caves.
But I'm afraid it will become a very long list.
For example, the idea to "use explosion as a temporary wall" can be used in many ways:
- Change direction of a fly
- Change falling direction of bouncing boulder/diamond
- Catch a falling diamond when it hits the explosion
- Move a boulder over a gap by using the explosion as a bridge
- Let a fly pass a gap by walking over or under the explosion (bridge)
- Enclose amoeba
- Hold a growing wall to let something pass
Are these all separate tricks? Or should the list mention only the general trick?
What complicates matters is that some effects are engine-specific.
Lastly, some effects are so obscure that I would never use them in a cave.
For instance, some dancing fly formations break when passing an open border.
This also depends on the engine (Krissz' implemetation of open border differs from the CLCK, but both have side effects).

I think so too. And while writing my previous post, two new ideas for BD caves came into my mind. Making up such lists is a nice exercise for idea generation.

I've 3 new caves in progress. Not so extreme like Rocky's Horror Show, but each with a unique idea!

Hi CWS! Very true and I know not everyone likes these kind of caves. But at Krissz' site we have a few players who love to experiment with the possibilities of the BD engine and this often gives "hardcore" caves where you need framewise accurate moves in order to complete it.CWS wrote:This one is impossible to play if you do not know the behavior of all objects in the cave. Somewhat unfair.
