Boulder Dash I, screen 9, level 1

Post by Rocky »

While working on the levels for my Boulder Dash Remake I see that the description of screen 9 of level 1 of Boulder Dash 1 begins with a explosion when a boulder crushs a firefly immediately. I wonder if that is a mistake in the level description and if this really happens in the original. Does anyone remember that? Thanks for your help! Markus

Yes, in the original BD1 level 1, in both cave H and K you hear a firefly explosion right at the cave start.

Note that in cave K, this results in a hole blasted in one of the walls, making the cave slightly easier.

I've never seen a description that had this before; where did you find it? I'm intrigued.
Boulders are round.
Fireflies are square.
I need to find
a'way out of here.

Oh, I remember that site
I was just wondering because it sounded like you had read a set of level descriptions from some less-familiar BD site. Maybe I'm being confusing...

I am happy to see that you like it. It is a lot of work, but it is also great fun to make that clone.
