Thanks for the feedback Arno :)
No, of course not, the player will have to be honest to himself whether or not he has fulfilled the challenge. Otherwise the game won't make much sense because the caves are identic to the BD1 and BD2 caves :D
Of course I'll formulate the challenge tasks as clearly as possible, so that misunderstandings should be impossible.

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!
Dustin's BD 10 is nearly finished and will come out soon (most probably in January)! It's once again a classical five-level game, and to make you curious, here are the names and remarks about the 16 caves and 4 ints:

Alternative - a classical intro with narrow passages!
Blocked Rooms - the second word may be a clue!
Circulation - first dodge, then crush!
Diamond Road - Get as many diamonds as possible while staying on track!
Quiz (int1) - Can you answer the question correctly?

Entombed Treasures - It's easy to get stuck!
Furious - Save the amoeba, you need it!
Glowing Thicket - Whatever glows, it's not a friend!
Hurry Potter - The name hides two properties of this cave!
Riddleflies (int2) - How is it possible to get enough diamonds?

Intermission Run - Four intermissions = one cave!
Jewel Snapper - Timing is everything!
Kaput! - Collect the diamonds if they're enough - or else destroy them to get more!
Lockin' All Seven Doors - Bob Dylan in BD! ;)
Slimy Symmetry (int3) - Demands some knowledge about BD physics!

Magic Square 4 - Can you "persuade" enough fireflies to go with you?
New Funnel - How to escape this funnel?
One Direction - You think you chase a firefly, the chicken can turn if you're too slow!
Push - While in permanent danger, free the platforms for the diamonds!
...and the final int isn't yet clear ;)

Dustin's BD 8, which will be a special episode, is still in work!
Cheers Dustin

Post by Dustin »

There's a new game from me on the Game Base! Thx Arno again for release and testing! The game is not from the Dustin's BD series, but... well, you'll see

The game is finished and will probably be on the Game Base the next days! As the name might already tell you, the cave "Kaizo Kingdoms" is by far the hardest cave of all Dustin's BD games so far. Lots of hard spots where you'll probably have to find the right way by trail-and-error in several attempts, precise timing needed more than once, and so on - I simply packed all of my most evil BD ideas during the last year into this cave! ;D On level 1, only 1 out of 8 diamonds is needed, and even for this I still needed 4-5 attempts during my final testings. On level 5, with the quick speed as an additional difficulty, I wasn't even close to a successful attempt yet! I wish you a lot of fun with this and the nineteen other new caves and ints!

Dustin's BD 8 - Arno Remix

Post by Dustin »

Hi BD fans!
Time to announce my latest game, Dustin's BD 8! It's a very secial edition - I took 20 {or more?!} caves and ints from the Arno Dash series and made classical 5-level versions out of them, so the game is a cross-over between Arno Dash and the basic Dustin's BD 5L idea!

Level 1 is for those who just want to have fun playing or remember the Arno Dash series as really difficult - the caves here are easier versions of the originals.

Level 2 is about as difficult as the originals.

Levels 3 and 4 are for those who want harder versions of Arno's caves which are still within sanity, so I find them challenging, but possible to play through without a game over.

Level 5 explores the limits of what is theoretically possible - it includes hardly solvable random seeds and many maximum-diamond runs, some of which demand techniques which were most likely not intended by Arno back when he designed the caves!

Arno and I are currently discussing final subtleties of the game, so it'll most likely come out very soon!

Would be nice if you have a more BD-like title screen next time... :)

You mean, compared with Dustin's BD 11? Well, that one had four different BD elements on the title screen at least, though not in original graphics :D

Funnily, it is in fact the very title screen that I'm still trying to optimize on Dustin's BD 8 - Arno Remix. The game itself is 100% finished! And the title screen will most probably indeed have typical BD graphics! ;D
