Released: Geek Dash 01

Post by Dr Geek »

Here is my first cave set:- Geek Dash 01

These are the first 10 caves I made with the cassette version the Boulder Dash Construction Kit. The main goal of the project was to learn the PLCK and create a stand alone game in an emulated enviroment using only VICE and .tap files (no cave packing programs) and some direct memory manipulation with pokes, the same way things would have been done 'back in the day'

I hope the caves are enjoyable to play - they only use the BD1 elements (no slime or growing walls)

The a zip file can be found here:-

Hi Dr. Geek,

I think you can send the BD game in uncompressed form directly to Arno, so he can post it to the Boulder Dash Game Data Base. Then people don't have to download it from that cryptic link.

I did. Nice designs; easy caves for beginning players!
Next time, could you add a bit more caves to your game? Say, at least 20 caves/intermissions per release? :)

I had a few months of break from Boulder Dash, last time I played with some of Arno's versions. If I will come back, for sure the first game which I will start will be Geek Dash. Cool to see new game, congrats! :)
