Indeed it is. Inbox is blocked by a brick. Will fix this problem right now.

I think I'm going to have to go through and test more caves, since I must have missed a few obvious things. I went through this and looked at the random seeds and made sure I could exit, but on this one I neglected to see if I could enter. LOL.

I'll edit it now and repost the updated III.

GDash on macos Ventura 13.2 doesn't run

Post by igormakovsky »

Can't run Gdash, process just doesn't run, DAE know what to do?

Using macos Ventura 13.2

1. I've installed Macports
2. Typed in

Code: Select all

sudo port install gdash
3. After long installation, Gdash appeared inside Applications folder
4. Can't launch it — just nothing happens

I see that "revvv" is getting started and has already released another update to gdash-export-crli version 1.4

Here's the link to this version:

Yes, sure. I will do this once I recover from a major vertigo spell. This is the first time I've read the forums in a while, and I see that a new version of GDash is up to...hopefully will get to do both soon.

Just to mention this here in the thread, too:

Development of GDash has been continued by revvv as mentioned above.

Some bug fixes have been done, the editor works stable now.

Best improvements yet:

Automatic game controller support (bluetooth, too)
Higher scaling factors for the game
New optional animation for running up and down
Added BD3 graphics theme
Command line options for bulk export
Additional OpenGL shaders
Several updates and fixes in the pipeline

For me as a Mac user best thing is that GDash is finally a regular APP and can be started as any other app.
And OpenGL works on MacOS again. Minimum system requirements is MacOS Catalina.

Dustin is working on an updated cave archive.

I noticed that the butterfly in CLCK 3.0 behaves a little bit different than the same in GDash.

Wow, great news it's being maintained! Well. Done.

Using the latest Win release (8/15), I noticed that Windows freezes temporarily when resizing or moving the game window.
The Main window seems to resize itself based on I don't know what when toggling the "full cave view" game mode. (can't reproduce after deleting the old appdata data)
I seem to be stuck in 3x zoom factor in "full cave view" mode no matter what I pick in the options.

If you take requests... Smoother scrolling that also keeps up on horizontal movement. Actually it only seems to be an issue on GTK+ but we don't get menus in the other 2 modes.
An extended cave view such as Krissz (30x18) which feels less cramped but doesn't take up as much screen space as full cave view.

Is there a programmer here who could help with the problem that in OpenGL the screen is not centered but always in the lower left corner? Happens on all systems.

GDash (respectively any2gdash) can not convert games from C64 memory dumps where the title screen says "same game Y/N" and "number of screens:" - no idea which kit creates this. It simply does not find the caves in the dump.

Does anybody have a solution for this?
