PLCK games with cave names

Post by subotai »

Hello,

I'm looking for some PLCK-games that take advantage of the possibility to name the caves. I need them for testing purpose. Thanks for any hints.

All games made with the Softkiller packer have them stored. Also some very early No One packer games still had them, but later versions removed this data. For the standalone game engine, this was just junk data which didn't serve any purpose, as it wasn't displayed anyway.

Also keep in mind that those weren't exactly accurate cave names, but file names in 8.3 format. They only purpose was to load all the caves from disk when played a .gam file with the original game module. This is a disk only feature. The tape version just loads all caves in the order they appear on the tape.

Thanks for your answer :D

I thought that the cave names was something like a description of the caves. So it doesn't really make sense to use this data.
